Simon Abramowitsch

Simon Abramowitsch is a teacher and writer. He earned his MA in English from Howard University in Washington, DC in 2009. He has taught English at the secondary level and currently teaches at the community college level in the Bay Area. In addition, he is one of five Bay Area natives who run Pueblo Nuevo Gallery, an art space in West Berkeley. The gallery recently received an Alternative Exposure Grant from Southern Exposure in support of their programming. He has worked with SFFCM since September 2009, and though he is relatively new to classical and chamber music, he is the grandson of Bay Area pianist Bernhard Abramowitsch (1906-1986) and the nephew of singer Miriam Abramowitsch.
