Chamber Music at the Legion of Honor
Chamber Music at the Legion of Honor is a free concert series presented in collaboration with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Now in its fourth season, this popular chamber music series is presented on the third Sunday of each month from January to June. All concerts are FREE of charge (with admission to the museum), and are held in the Rodin Gallery of the Legion of Honor from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
In this exciting collaboration, SFFCM and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco have asked the performers to create a program of music inspired by the Legion's special exhibition. The first three concerts will feature music composed during the reign of Louis XIV to coincide with the Legion of Honor’s current exhibition, "Royal Treasures from the Louvre: Louis the XIV to Marie-Antoinette", which will run through March. The performing ensembles are Affiliates of SFFCM or Musical Grant Program recipients, and represent the tremendous musical talent in the Bay Area. By bringing together visual and performing arts in a public setting, these concerts stimulate the imagination and enhance the experience of visitors at the museum.
