Celestial Sounds: The Jazz Visitations of Alice Coltrane"

The music on this date will include reimaginings of her Impulse Records

recordings and music of her contemporary Dorothy Ashby.

 

 

 

 

Destiny Muhammad brings her unique sound on harp to a classic and eclectic genre she dubs ͚Celtic to Coltrane.͛ Destiny has opened for The Oakland East Bay Symphony, shared the stage with jazz masters Azar Lawrence, Marcus Shelby, Omar Sosa, and John Santos and co-starred in Def Jam Poetry Winner Ise Lyfe's Hip Hop Play Pistols & Prayers. The Governor Emeritus and Educational Chair Emeritus of the Recording Academy, San Francisco Chapter, a Jazz Heritage Center of San Francisco Jazz Ambassador and an ASCAP Songwriter Awardee, Destiny has also headlined the Women in Jazz͛ Concert series in San Francisco.
