San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music (SFFCM) furthers its mission of inspiring and strengthening the Bay Area music community by organizing, sponsoring, and being part of various concert series that feature performances of affiliate ensembles.
SFFCM and the Presidio Trust welcome you to enjoy free, casual, diverse musical performances every Friday night from 6-8PM. Concerts take place at the newly-reopened Officers' Club, just outside celebrated chef Traci Des Jardins' Arguello restaurant. In the intimate atmosphere of a house concert, you can savor, lounge and learn as you wish, moving comfortably between the cantina and the adjacent Moraga Room with opportunities to converse with performers and each other.
Come find out where the Bay Area's finest chamber musicians are now starting their weekends.
An outgrowth of San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music's acclaimed annual event, SFMusic Day . Live + Free. This new bi-weekly series extends the reach of that celebration of the Bay Area's vibrant, eclectic music scene year-round. Small ensembles in the SFFCM community - excellent and ambitious performers of Early Music, Chamber Music, New Music, Jazz, and Creative Music - are free to present, on their own terms, concert programs in the uniquely intimate and accessible environment of C4NM.
Presented in collaboration with the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the series brings Bay Area ensembles to perform a program inspired by the Legion's current special exhibition.
The calendar for the series' 2014 season includes performances by Friction Quartet, Salon Classique, Vinacessi Ensemble, Mobius Trio, Farallon Quintet and the Baumer Quartet.
SFFCM's largest annual event features live performances by some of the finest professional ensembles in the San Francisco Bay Area. Audiences of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to experience the excitement of new works and classic chamber music repertoire absolutely free of charge.
The 2014 edition took place on September 20-21 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
SFFCM's Fiscally Sponsored Projects and Musical Grant Program recipients perform regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to receive updates of these performances.
