Praised by The Strad for its "gripping immediacy and freshness" and "rich palette of tone colours", The Lee Trio has inspired and moved audiences and critics around the world and established itself as one of the premier chamber ensembles on the international stage.

Consisting of San Franciscan sisters - Melinda Lee Masur, piano; Lisa Lee, violin; and Angela Lee, cello - the trio made its professional debut in 2002 at London's Wigmore Hall and continues to concertize on both sides of the Atlantic.  In recent seasons, The Lee Trio gave debut recitals at the Mendelssohn Festival and Bachfest in Leipzig, Germany and at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, performed in Italy under the auspices of Luoghi Di Confine, and completed its first China tour, giving recitals and master classes in Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai and performing the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Macao Youth Symphony, Shenzhen Symphony and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestras. Other appearances have included recitals at The Scandinavia House in New York City, Gorham's Bluff Institute in Alabama, the Philharmonie in Berlin and the Franckeschen Stiftungen Konzertsaal in Halle, Germany, as well as a residency as Associate Chamber Music Faculty at the 2007 Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival in Courmayeur, Italy.

Some highlights of the 2007-2008 season include recitals at Villa Boveri (Switzerland), Schumann-Haus and Kloisters im Plankstetten (Germany), Markham Theatre (Toronto), Zhongshan Culture and Art Center (China), City Hall Theatre and Lee Hysan Concert Hall (Hong Kong) as well as recordings for RTHK4 and a guest appearance on the televised program, Music of Friends.  The Lee Trio is commissioning a multi-movement piano trio by American composer Nathaniel Stookey.  The next Bay Area performance for The Lee Trio will be on the Steinway Society's Concert Series at Le Petit Trianon Theatre in San Jose, CA on Sunday, November 9, 2008, 7 PM.
