Classical Revolution is a musical collective made up of some of the most outstanding young classical musicians in the Bay Area. For the past year, Classical Rev has hosted Chamber Sessions at the popular Mission District music venue Revolution Cafe, which is a free event that takes place every Sunday night. In addition, Classical Revolution has been invited to present classical performances at other popular Mission District venues, including Amnesia and Red Poppy Art House.

We have featured performances by the Del Sol Quartet, Presidio Ensemble, Vivaldi's Four Seasons with San Francisco Conservatory's Baroque Ensemble, Charles Ives' Piano Trio with Graeme Jennings, Leighton Fong, and Christopher Jones, an evening of new music by California composer Fred Adler, a performance of a Mozart Piano Concerto with an 18 piece chamber orchestra, and an impromptu performance by concert violinist Anne-Akiko Meyers.

Future engagements include Sunday Music Brunch at the Legion of Honor, featuring music from the era of Marie Antoinette, and the 4/4 Series, which creates new repertoire for string quartet composed by local musicians from a variety of backgrounds and styles, including jazz, gypsy, and many in-between genres. Concerts for the 4/4 Series will take place at Amnesia, Revolution Cafe, and other Mission District venues. Other future projects in planning stages include music education for children and adults and a silent film series featuring live music.

The musicians who play in Classical Revolution come from a variety of backgrounds. Most are recent graduates or current students from the nation's best conservatories including San Francisco Conservatory, Juilliard, Rice University, and Oberlin Conservatory. We play in the Monterey Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Santa Cruz Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Shotgun Wedding Hip-Hop Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, California Symphony, Carmel Bach Festival, and many other Bay Area Ensembles. We are also proud to provide a musical outlet for several accomplished non-professional musicians who use Classical Revolution as an outlet to maintain their musical life while working non-musical jobs.

Our mission is to present concerts involving both traditional and modern approaches while engaging the neighborhood by offering chamber music performances in highly accessible venues and collaborating with local musicians and artists from various styles and backgrounds.
